Doesn't it make format the HDD and when you do that it erases everything?

@LJMJDWSCpitt PS3, both fat and slim work with notebook hdds, so yeah, you can take off the one from the old and slap onto the new one without worries

can i put my 80gb hard drive from my old ps3 into the ps3 slim bcuz i have a ton of stuff saved on my old hard drive!! plz answer!! someone

yes shotu92 it will work but dont worry bout getting a real expensive External drive as long as it has enough room and works for PS3 buy as cheap as u can

@Shotu92 yes…but you have to put the data on a backup device, such as a 1 terabyte MegaLoader

My old PS3 got YLOD. So I bought a slim.
Can i put my old PS3's HDD into my slim to backup the data on an external drive, then put slim's HDD back in and get all the data back?
